Ocean Care

Ocean Care
This  picture shows how our ocean are really  the dump site of  human   wastes. Sadly, but its  true , now is the time to  unite each other in   battling  this  world   worst  scenario.

Last May 2014 I have the opportunity to travel to Bacolod City via Negros Navigation Ship. I really witnessed that plenty of  plastic bottles and other scrap materials floating on the ocean. How I wish I could jump to the water and remove all those plastics materials floating. It's so sad  but I think I have to do something the best that I can. Now every travel that I made I make sure that I reminded politely other passengers not to throw their garbage on the ocean.
It was the happiest moment in my life during this travel that I witnessed a group of dolphins following  our ship just very close to us. For me I think it's a sign that  they are happy because of my awareness to help clean the ocean.

Save the Ocean

Help promote clean ocean
This photo was taken at Subic bay Olongapo City . The ocean is very clean and  sanctuary of beautiful creatures in sea. Promoting clean water should start form our self  through discipline and proper behaviour by following  rules and regulation not to damp waste in water.

Celebrating Mother Earth Day

A Special Message from Kisseo E-card

Celebrate Mother Earth

Earth DayThis Sunday is Earth Day, a day to celebrate the amazing planet we live on. To kick off the weekend, here are some fun facts to impress your friends with:
  • Earth Day is the largest non-religious holiday celebrated in the world, with 175 countries observing it.
  • The energy gained from recycling one aluminum can could power a TV for three hours.
  • Recyclying aluminum cans requires 90% less energy than making new ones.
  • 1 bus carries as many people as 40 cars.
  • Each person throws away about 4 pounds of garbage per day.
  • 84% of household waste can be recycled.
And now for some quick and easy tips to help the planet:
  • Reusable grocery bags: Not only do you save the energy used to produce all those plastic bags that eventually end up in landfills, but they're sturdier. Your next 6-pack or bottle of wine will thank you.
  • Turn off the lights: Take a look around - do you really need all those lights on? I personally find dinner more romantic and TV-watching more relaxing when I only have one light on. Bonus points for using one with a dimmer switch.
  • Walk to the ice cream shop: Instead of driving, walk there! You'll save gas and (minimal) wear and tear on your car, plus you'll burn off some of the calories before you even get there. Guilt-free ice cream tastes so much better!
  • Send a free Earth Day ecard to your friends - awareness is one of the most important aspects in any cause!

Activities that Promotes Green Environment

Planting Vegetables
Planting vegetables that  promotes green environment and healthy living. This is not an easy job but if you have the desires and purpose  in life that started right at  your own  backyard  then there's nothing impossible that others will do this also.

Preserving  the Wildlife
Let's help  preserve our wildlife and promotes it's importance starting from our family, friends, students and to the community as well.
This was taken  during our field trip in Subic, Philippines  wherein  we visited
the wildlife reserved of  Subic. (Right with shades-author)
Planting Green Plants from Recycled Bottles
Planting green plants or  vegetables from plastic bottles can be very best role model among  others in our community. Let's start doing it right now.

Classroom Activities

Green Activities & Classroom Resources
Be resourceful supplement outdated science textbooks with environmentally focused resources. These activities and guides will encourage your students to live a "greener" lifestyle, at home and at school. By teaching children at a young age to be environmentally aware, you are building lifelong habits that could potentially make a dramatic difference in the future of the earth. The activities and resources include methods for reducing waste and trash, information about product consumption, recycling tips, facts about pollution and its effects on the environment, global warming statistics, worksheets on different ecosystems, and plenty of projects for students to complete inside and outside the classroom.
Expand your lessons on the environment by using these on Resource Consumption. Students research natural resources and map their locations, fill in a graphic organizer with ways to help the environment, along with other activities.

Recycling Tips & Tricks
Use these resources to enhance students' knowledge about recycling through reading passages, a study guide, and coloring book.
 Recycling Facts
The "Three Rs": Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle

Reusing & Recycling Reduces Waste: Environment Activities for the ClassrooRecycling Study GuidColoring Packet: Reusing an Old Jar

Environmental Science

Choose from these resources to expand students' learning about the environment. Activities include printables, quizzes, and thought-provoking questions.

Minimizing Pollution
Enhance students' comprehension about air pollution by using these resources. Included is a vocabulary printable, creating a wanted poster, along with enrichment and hands on activities.

Protecting Ecosystems
These resources will extend student learning. Lessons include home projects, role playing, and a nature walk to collect information about ecosystems.

Reducing Trash, Litter & Waste
Choose from these resources to teach students ways to help the environment. Included are printables to create alternatives to cleaning up the environment, learning about landfills, and a fun detective activity.

Class Reunion
Another way of  showing our care to the mother  earth  is  by creating a theme  that promotes green environment.
My almamater school  used  this type of theme  every  class reunion
and I am very proud of this & really missed this.
Batch '80  used  this style during parade with a  green motiff   vegetables

I like this  so much.. go.. go.. go.. for green ...

and this  is  really captivating.. carrying the seedlings  for life..

Let's teach our young children  to plant  trees & start  building concern with
the environment
Planting Green Plants

Planting trees is by far one of the most important gifts we can give back to the planet and to ourselves. Global warming is caused by a buildup of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere (such as carbon dioxide and methane), which traps heat on the planet. But trees have the ability to suck up carbon dioxide, which is why the Amazon and other forests are so important. If every person on the planet plants one tree, that amounts to nearly 7 billion new carbon sponges. You can plant a tree in your own backyard, or join a group.
Planting green plants helps reduce pollution. Let's start doing it around are homes and  backyard. What a wonderful world to live if we can see greener environment.
This plants is not  anymore advisable to  plant since it belongs
to a dangerous  species of plants. It has a spike needle structure
that  if  inhaled or swallowed  you will develop  difficulty  in
breathing . We already  removed this plants in our backyard.

CONTINUE  PLANTING  GREEN PLANTS  TO PRESERVE OUR MOTHER  EARTH

Continue promoting  environment preservation activities based on capability and resources you have.. As part of this global  environmental problems  Green planting activities should be  a priority requirement as a means of lowering environmental degradation.
