This Sunday is Earth Day, a day to celebrate the amazing planet we live on. To kick off the weekend, here are some fun facts to impress your friends with:

• Earth Day is the largest non-religious holiday celebrated in the world, with 175 countries observing it.
• The energy gained from recycling one aluminum can could power a TV for three hours.
• Recyclying aluminum cans requires 90% less energy than making new ones.
• 1 bus carries as many people as 40 cars.
• Each person throws away about 4 pounds of garbage per day.
• 84% of household waste can be recycled.

And now for some quick and easy tips to help the planet:

• Reusable grocery bags: Not only do you save the energy used to produce all those plastic bags that eventually end up in landfills, but they're sturdier. Your next 6-pack or bottle of wine will thank you.
• Turn off the lights: Take a look around - do you really need all those lights on? I personally find dinner more romantic and TV-watching more relaxing when I only have one light on. Bonus points for using one with a dimmer switch.
• Walk to the ice cream shop: Instead of driving, walk there! You'll save gas and (minimal) wear and tear on your car, plus you'll burn off some of the calories before you even get there. Guilt-free ice cream tastes so much better!
• Send a free Earth Day ecard to your friends - awareness is one of the most important aspects in any cause!

     Planting trees is by far one of the most important gifts we can give back to the planet and to ourselves. Global warming is caused by a buildup of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere (such as carbon dioxide and methane), which traps heat on the planet. But trees have the ability to suck up carbon dioxide, which is why the Amazon and other forests are so important. If every person on the planet plants one tree, that amounts to nearly 7 billion new carbon sponges. You can plant a tree in your own backyard, or join a group.

      Planting green plants helps reduce pollution. Let's start doing it around are homes and  backyard. What a wonderful world to live if we can see greener environment.

This plants is not  anymore advisable to  plant since it belongs
to a dangerous  species of plants. It has a spike needle structure
that  if  inhaled or swallowed  you will develop  difficulty  in
breathing . We already  removed this plants in our backyard.

surroundings. This type of trees can be easily planted
from  the fruit's seeds . I remember  this fruits in our province
we have lots of this .

This is another type of  trees that bears fruits and contributes
a lot in  green environment

     Trees are one of the best (if not the best) gifts that God gave to mankind. Yet, man seems to have ignored and taken for granted the many reasons why. In fact, the abundance of plants since life existed in this world made him abuse, and in time, destroy these life-givers. During its lifetime, a tree cleans the air we breathe. It cools the air and provides it with oxygen, an important element in the atmosphere that protects us from the harmful effects of the ultraviolet rays from the sun. It absorbs excess carbon products and other Pollutants that are harmful to our lungs. Both men and animals benefit from various Parts of tees for food, shelter, clothing, medicine, dyes, ornaments, furniture, tools, weapons, fuel, and many more.

     The roots of the trees hold the soil together and prevent erosion and at the same time some luminous trees reconsider and fertilize it. Since the roots absorb rainwater collected in the ground, the water table from underneath is pulled up the trees up in the forested mountains help create clouds that soon turn into rain. It takes man onl1t a few minutes to kill a tree which took God ten to several hundreds of to grow. Earth-savers and environmental guardians have long been warning against the ill effects of the mass destruction of trees. They have repeatedly pleaded the developers of urban sites to spare what is left of these trees.

Go Green Philippines was formally launched last October 2007 at the Manila FAME International Show in response to the need to preserve the natural environment. An initiative of Cebu FAME Foundation, Go Green has a 3  fold objectives:

Livelihood Projects - helping  rural communities through livelihood programs and skills training and education that can also support the fashion jewelry industry.

that  has an ongoing study and projects  like segregation

But in 2018 it has finally closed. Thanks to residents
who are after the health bad effects brought about by
this landfill.

Human being do not realize,

Struggling and surviving becomes dehumanize
One day ,nature will surely suffers. 

Factories & industries releases harmful gases,
Unaware human being still careless
What will happen to the earth now?
This is my concern for tomorrow’s world. 

Increasing automobiles on rise
release dangerous carbon mono-oxide ,
contributing pollution in day to day life
Spoiling the nature, destabilizing life, 

Let’s act now and minimize the pollution,
Save the nature and avoid congestion,
If nature continue to suffers,
Generation next shall curse their mentors. 

Let’s pledge, not to abuse with nature more, 

Plant seeds for more trees, save pollution and be assure,

Marine life is also facing problems at present,  waste materials
can reach  the bottom of the ocean and many studies has proven
this already. Massive coral reefs has been also destroyed by human. 
A fisherman can make a great change through his right action.

A FISHERMAN'S PRAYER

In our  daily tasks we usually uttered a prayer for us to be blessed the whole day.
The job of the fisherman is not easy  as what we think but it needs a lots of patience, bravery  and guidance to the Lord for them not to be abusive to the nature.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble, with all my fishing tools in hand 
I almost feel like dancing in the cloud, not just an ordinary fisherman. 

Forgive me when sometimes I got smaller fish away 
My patience may lost  for waiting to be caught another day. 

Lord, calm me  when my temper burst. 
When my action is against me I begin to swear. 

Help me to look upon my fishing buddy with patience, and grace 
To choose and look at the big one's and take care the little one. 

Lord please help me to return to my home safely. 
To see my family  once and  be free.
